The Culprit!

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

This is the photo of my little shed that I painted blue. I was wandering round Wilkinson's and spied this little snail in the exact colour of blue to match. Well I have enough real snails in my garden without adding artificial ones too. I bought it, though, for cosmetic reasons and it lived on the top of the shed roof and looked like it was meant to be there.
Meanwhile, all the real snails get thrown over the fence onto the service lane behind! This gives them the chance to "scuttle off," in a snail like way, if they survive their flight! If not and they get run over.......... well I didn't have to kill them did I? They had a chance!

I went down to the shed the other day and noticed something was different! The plant had obviously grown a bit but the snail was gone! Had it crawled off in the night? Hardly likely! The real culprit from next door was sitting on the shed wondering what I was going to do about it! Well it might not even be him! There are four of them living next door and they all like to curl up on my shed!

The snail was found lying behind the potted plant with his horns broken off! I will not be taking a photo of him as it is too depressing, but he won't be sitting on top of the shed any more!

This is my story and these are my photos for Photostory Friday.

  1. What a shame!
But I love the photo of the cat - I think he/she is trying to look very innocent, as if saying 'It wasn't me - honest!'.

    Cats are great like that!

    Have a good weekend!

  3. Aww... maybe the cat got jealous? But yeah, I understand that seeing the snail could be depressing.

I am new at PSF and my entry can be read HERE. Please stop by if you have some time. Happy weekends!

  5. Busted! I wonder if the cat was just trying to get the snail to play?

    Peace - D

  11. What a shame, I really liked your blue snail. I don't normally go for ornaments, inside or out, but that snail absolutely had to sit on your blue shed. I'm distraught!!...Flick x

  14. I've done exactly the same! I have enough real snails eating my hostas, but I've bought a pottery one to brighten up the garden! At least I'm aware of what can happen now, I won't be putting it anywhere high up.

  15. Maggy, you must get a new snail and glue it down. The shed won't be the same without it. Be off, woman, search the country high and low for a new snail.

  20. Oh no! Poor slimey the snail. I'm sure the cat got jealous and pushed him off. But you'll never penetrate their wall of silence - the solidarity of villians.

  23. Awwwww! I liked that blue snail!!

We have snails in our yard too. I haven't a clue what to do with them. If I throw them over the fence they just end up in the neighbor's yard. Doesn't seem too neighborly of me, but I've thought about it. :)

Great PSF!! So glad you played this week!!

  24. Love the color of your shed and why don't you glue the horns back on, and then glue that little guy to the shed so the cats can't knock him off again? He is too cute to not be displayed properly!
