This is a very strange thing to fix on to the side of a house! I took the photo when I was travelling some time ago and thought it was worth a picture!
I should imagine that birds would love to nest in the nose but didn't see any evidence of them doing so. Was not sure whether to call this story "The house that knows" or " The nosey house,"so you can take your pick! Oh......... pardon the pun! Did you get it?!
that is so weird! a great pic tho!
ReplyDeleteSo very strange, but yet, so cool! I'd love to have that on the side of my house - if I had my own house. If I decided to settle anywhere that is.
ReplyDeleteHope things have calmed down a little bit for you and your family. My thoughts are still with you.
Take care,
Peter
The picture speaks for itself. What a strange contraption to have on the side of your house! Certainly worth a photo. Well discovered!
ReplyDeletethat is pretty strange!!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I thought it was some kind of hornet's nest. Weird -for sure -but yes, very interesting.
ReplyDeleteShut up!! Seriously? Someone thought that was a good idea?
ReplyDeleteWell, the picture of it is a GREAT idea. I love that you grabbed your camera for this one!!
Yeah, that is totally weird! But a great photo and story none the less! Good conversation photo! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteWeird! But fun!
ReplyDeleteIncredible what people will do to look down their nose at the neighbours.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. You'd need you whole arm to pick that thing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a strange object! Do you think it is suposed to really be a nose or do you think it has a function but just happens to look like a nose?! Perhaps something lives up the 'nostrils'? Take your pick..very clever :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. My uncle has a kind of obsession with noses, he will love this picture. Where was it?
ReplyDeletevery interesting. I'd have to stop and take a picture of it too.
ReplyDeleteWhat an extraordinary picture. I don't think I would like it on my house but it a fab photo.
ReplyDeleteHa! I love love love quirky shots like this. They BEG to be photographed! I love it Maggie!
ReplyDeleteI sure wouldn't want that on my house. So strange!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of the owners is an ear, nose and throat doctor and you just didn't see the other two oddball nests.
Perhaps it's just there to smell the flowers. Strange indeed--not something I would put on my house!
ReplyDeleteToo bad they didn't have eyes and mouth to go with it. Do you suspect that maybe it was a charm to keep colds and hay-fever away?
ReplyDeleteI just dread to think what it's going to look like in the winter with icicles hanging off!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie, it's been a while since I've been here. I liked the story about your brother and the keys.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why anyone would even make a wicker nose, let alone hang one on his house. I suppose swallows could nest up there really well. Maybe it's a Chinese man who likes bird's nest soup.
That is very interesting..... too bad that you don't know the story behind it!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this either! No wonder you took a picture. I think it's kinda neat. And I Love "the house that knows"!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I love unusual stuff like this where you least expect it.
ReplyDeleteSo who knows about the nose?
ReplyDeleteWell spotted ... great picture. I do love these quirky things ... it does make you wonder what were they thinking?
