The Weir

Photo copyright of Maggie May.

This is Pulteney Weir in Bath, Somerset. It is a place I often go to and I never get tired of this lovely Roman city with it's beautiful buildings, waterways and natural hot water springs.
In this picture I was standing on a bridge looking down. On the left is a very unusual bridge that I will be posting about very soon.

Watery Wednesday is hosted by 2sweetnsaxy. For magnificent photos from all over the world, why not look her up?

  7. How funny - we are currently working on a large project at Weirs Beach Village in NH ! Same name yet so far apart! And this picture looks so refreshing - summer has finally arrived here - hot and very humid. I wish I could jump right into that water! Ahh...

  8. Your photos just get better and better, Maggie May--this one is lovely. My only acquaintence with Bath is the Wife of Bath in the Canterbury Tales:)

  9. Before I enlarged it I thought the water was flowing the other way.
This is lovely enlarged! I love the curve of the falls.

  12. Loved the photo you have here although I have to confess since this was the first time I have ever heard the word "Weir" that I had to do a Wikipedia search to find out what it is!
Yeah, so much for culture and knowledge, huh?

  16. That's a lovely picture of the weir, especially as it excludes all the tourists!

  17. PS. That sounds silly now I've re read it! Like the tourists are usually floating about in the water! Must be the school hols getting to me!

  27. Nice to see an old friend from a different perspective. It is unusual to see the weir from that angle.

  28. A very interesting looking weir - I love Bath, but I don't think I've discovered a fraction of what there is to see.
