Our New Baby

How about this one?

Or maybe that one?

These are just two of the baby rabbits in a litter of four that is six weeks old, and one of them is mine!
They are not ready to leave their mother yet for another 2 weeks. I will be going to view them in person soon and choose a female (doe) so that Ash will have a companion.
We have already named her Lily.
However, we won't be able to put her in with him yet, as she will be too tiny and probably scared of him (the bouncing teenager) and I don't want him tossing her about like a football. So..... I will keep her in a separate part of his run for a couple of weeks until they are completely used to each other.
That is the way to go.
Am I mad or what?

  4. You are wise to surround yourself with life and growth and furry friends. Who needs anything else?

  5. I think they are very cute :-) Congratulations!

Lily is a beautiful name. That's the name of our female bulldog who once belonged to our daughter.

I hope you are doing well, my friend...D

  8. Hard not to take them all home. Those little faces just squeeze the love in us out to them.

  9. We used to raise rabbits to... gulp...eat... but I don't see how anybody could eat anything that cute. If Ash is been "fixed", then he probably will be fine with her...

  10. You are so funny, Mommy Maggie! But Ash might enjoy some companionship and now that he can't make little bunnies, you won't have a rabbit menangerie unless you go totally bonkers and continue on you bunny buying spree.

  12. You're absolutely right.
Lily, whichever one is she, is adorable, cute gorgeous, bundle of fluff, huggable...you get how I feel! I'd be tempted myself, but we put Crash's run in a skip in August.
Congrats, new Mum. It's great to see you enjoying these pets so much, Maggie!

P.S. Guess what the word verif is? Moussess!! Want one?

  18. How absolutely wonderful. You are smitten, aren't you? How can you stand waiting 2 weeks? I can't wait to hear how Ash will react to this. He will be surprised.

  25. This will be fun to "watch" them getting to know each other in your blog. Sounds like slowly introducing them to each other is the way to go.

  27. I couldn't choose, I know! I would end up with both...
I'm sure Lily and Ash will get along well, and you will have two (three?) bundles of fur to love.

  29. They're absolutely adorable! Look at that beautiful "painted" eye on the second one. She looks like a stage actress. I think you'd have to be mad in order to resist these cuties.

  30. Lucky Ash! Beautiful little creatures.

  31. Boy Maggie -I'd really be hard-pressed to choose between either of those two bunnies but I think, if push came to shove -I'd opt for the one in the lower picture. Something about the eyes that kind of grabbed me there, if you know what I mean. Both are too cute though, really they are!
