Is it a.............Meerkat?

Photo Copyright: Maggie May

I was about to do a spot of cooking when I realised that the sweet potato looked like a mummified meerkat. I almost felt guilty peeling and chopping it! However, it tasted delicious in a chicken stew.

Since my last post, I've had quite a busy time. My daughter and grandsons came for a quick weekend visit, which was lovely.
I was taken to visit a Circus in the Cotswolds by my son and his intended wife and their three girls. My brother also came with us which added to the enjoyment of the afternoon.
It was a delightful performance by mostly humans and no animal cruelty was involved because they used horses, which seemed to love the routine and a couple of hens and a goose who also seemed happy to take part. The Circus used classical music and played instruments superbly and the singers, whose voices could be heard all over the tent without the use of a microphone, were also extremely talented. There were high wire acts and the clown seemed to be of a very high calibre. I would describe it as a Classical Circus of high standard. All in all a great time was had by us all.

Since my last post, we have had a whole mix of different weather conditions. Fortunately the day we visited the circus was warm and dry. So maybe my idea to leave a post about a stormy day on the blog for a whole week, paid off. Sod's Law and all that. I wonder what the coming week has in store?

Ha, ha, your sweet potato/meerkat looks a little reluctant to go into the pot:)

Sounds like you have had a good week, and I'm glad you finally got at least one day of sunshine. I haven't been to a circus in ages.

The circus you attended indeed does sound classy. I'm so glad that you went and enjoyed.
The highlight of the post was to read that your daughter and grandsons came to visit. That would have made my entire week THE brightest ever! I'm so happy for you, Maggie.
Sending you love...
Always,

Sounds like my kind of circus - how lovely.
We have had wild weather here, too. A lot of my annuals are still sitting around waiting to be planted out. But they did, indeed, get watered. By far too much cold rain.

The circus sounds lovely...I haven't been to one since my children grew up!

We have sunshine here, also--I spent some time setting stepping stones out in the back of our house. They are working as a boarder for a flower bed and also filling/covering a small ditch which the rain dug as it fell from the eaves of the house. Time well spent!

Looks like it's peering into the saucepan, wondering "who will my companions be?"
Glad you got to the circus and enjoyed it, and Eddie too. I guess you will be seeing a little more of each other now, and that will help him in his grief. Now I want to play in that circus, do you think they had any horns?
Isn't it just lovely to see sunshine, even an occasional day of it?

I had to giggle a bit when I saw your sweet potato. It is good to be creative and imaginative when one must peel and chop potatoes.

I'm glad the circus and all the visits have been so lovely. Here's hoping some more sun comes your way.

A circus? What fun they are, even if what we see takes us back to old times. I love them; and I miss them.

Great day at the circus wasn't it? Really enjoyed it.

There are plenty more Meerkats on Coronation Street in case you acquire a taste for them! LOL

My mum went to that circus as the ringmaster is a very old friend of theirs!

Hasn't the weather been lovely? Hope it keeps going.

Oh, that's funny - I have a photo of a squash I'm looking for a reason to use. I love weirdly shaped veggies.

That is one funny looking sweet potato! I LOVE sweet potatoes, yummm...thanks for the LOL!

I'm glad there was no animal cruelty at the circus you attended. Thank goodness that seems to be the trend for this type of entertainment. Some terrible things that went on at circuses, years ago. :>(
