My Visit to Northern Ireland

I've just come back from a lovely holiday in Northern Ireland.
It's the first holiday that I've had off the mainland for years and it's thanks to my daughter that we flew out there and hired a car and travelled a bit.

These pictures were taken from The Giant's Causeway ..... an amazing place to go. It has a unique rock formation not found anywhere else. It was caused by lava flow and the ice age apparently.
Anyway, it was my favourite place during that visit and I was pleased that I was able to walk around a bit, even though it isn't easy terrain.
I would recommend a visit there.

I am soooo happy that you took a vacation and enjoyed it, my friend.
Your photos are beautiful.
I send you a hug (or two....or three....or more!) from across the pond.
Love you,
Jackie

So happy for you that you were able to take this vacation, Maggie! My granddaughter returned in June from a semester in Belfast. She traveled through the area quite a bit while there and shared her photos with us--the Giant's Causeway does look familiar. She loved it and would love to go back again.

Very cool - when we were planning on visiting Ireland last year I was interested in the Giant's Causeway. Ultimately, though, we narrowed it down to southwest Ireland.

Sorry I'm late to post but what a great outing. Those are the kind of volcanic formations we have here in Eastern Washington State too. Love to see the ones in N.Ireland though. Wonderful to have good company to make the trip for you happen.

Oh I do envy you. Maybe some day I will get there too. My roots are Irish; my mother was an O'Neil, and I have always wanted to see the green lost land.
