Busy, Busy!

I've been keeping very busy with knitting.  It has helped me to keep my mind off thinking about the anniversary of Harry's death which has just gone.
Now I've come round full circle..... a whole year of Birthdays, Anniversary's etc without him.

I seem to have knitted a few baby things for various people over the last few weeks.

This one was for my great niece who has just celebrated her 1st Birthday and the turquoise one is for a neighbour's new born son but I have two more to do in that style and maybe the same colour for other baby boys.

I'm also knitting twiddle muffs for patients with dementia at our local hospital. Apparently, they love to fiddle with things and inside the muff there are various things incorporated in the knitting to twiddle with.
So all in all, I seem to be quite busy.

Hello Grannie May. You have been busy and with so much to show for it! I adore the little girls cardigan and how thoughtful to make these for the hospital patients.
Hope you have a pleasant September!

The first year of anniversaries/birthdays etc is the worst and it does get better, although even then an occasional tidal wave of grief will knock you out of the blue from somewhere. I love that striped cardigan. You are very gifted to be able to knit like that. A useful distraction for you but very useful to someone else as well.

Gorgeous little sweaters! The twiddle thingie is so complicated! You are one talent Ed lady.

I hope your sadness is lightened by the thought that you were a wonderful wife and did so much for him. I have a friend here who is just coming up to the same one year anniversary and is struggling to keep busy and occupied too. I think you are wise to acknowledge that you are sad but not let it bury you. Good for you and may the load lighten!

Beautiful knitting! You inspire me to take up yarn and needles again. I've never heard of he twiddle piece. That sounds like something that would be interesting and creative to do. I'll google.

Those baby cardies are lovely! And it doesn't take long to knit little tiny things does it. I have a pair of socks on the knitting needles, 1 is finished, the other 1/2 finished and I just can't seem to get started on it again. I need some encouraging words from you!

A year makes a huge difference. Your knitting is beautiful. I find knitting soothes me like a meditation but with something tangible at the end. LOL

I love the pink sweater--you are so talented, Maggie! The fiddle muff sounds like such a great idea for Alzheimer's patients, and I'm sure much appreciated. I do enjoy knitting, but I'm so slow and not very good at it. I could use some tutoring from you!
