If Only

Photo Copyright: Maggie May

I used to be a Lively Lady in the good old days and hope one day I might still be one.

I'm waiting for an MRI scan because my consultant now feels that I have a slipped disc or something like that.
Because this has caused me a lot of pain, I haven't spent as much time on my blog as I'd have liked to but I will get back to normal as soon as possible.
So please bear with me.

Dear Maggie - i am so sorry that your acute back pain is still continuing. I have my fingers crossed that it can be sorted soon. Don't worry about blogging (writes she who hasn't written a post for 2 months+!) - I will be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts over to you.

Sit back in your lovely new chair and enjoy watching any of the Olympic sports you like. I always think I wont get hooked but then comes the swimming, and the diving, and the gymnastics, and the weight lifting, and the hockey, and the cycling, and the track and field, rowing, canoeing, sailing, equestrian .........

Sending our love and care to you and Harry, and the bunnies,

Michelle and Zebby Cat (who spends his days ruling the world from on top of HIS bed, bless him), xxxxx and puRRRRRumbles

Hope the scan finds it is a slipped disc and not anything more sinister Maggie, though a slipped disc is bad enough. xx

Sweet lady...
I pray as you await your MRI.
The pain you are feeling makes me feel sad, and I assure you that I will be praying daily for your pain to be alleviated.
I hug you from here (gentle hugs as to not cause you any more pain.)
In the meantime, don't worry one little bit about blogging or not blogging. We are right here and you are right here with me...in my heart and in my prayers.
Love you,
J.

Oh, I know the agony of back pain. I had an MRI on mine and then physio miraculously fixed the problem. Hope yours is similarly solved and you can return to being a lively lady again.

Hi Maggie, I was wondering why you hadn't written a post for a wgile and was about to write you an email and ask why. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your MRI scan and that the reason for tour back pain will soon be discovered and that it will be taken care of quickly. There's nothing as irritating and tiresome as a constant backache. Thinking of you :o)

No problem to bear with you Maggie. I'm really sorry that you're still in pain, that is awful, but I suppose a relief that it's (only) caused by a slipped disc.
Nevertheless, pain is very tiring, and means you can't do the things you'd like to, so I hope they hurry up with the MRI, and get you sorted. (((hugs))) and fingers crossed for you.

I don't blog much any more either, but it's because it's summer.

I do hope they figure out the cause of your pain. Not much fun going through tests and stuff.

I like your boat pic.

Sending gentle hugs your way.

I hope they find the cause of your pain and you can finally get some relief, Maggie. I hope you can be that lively lady once again!

I can relate -boy can I ever -to the pain and huge amounts of it too -if you do have a slipped or herniated disc! I had that happen to me about 2 weeks after I had the first surgery for the colo-rectal cancer back in 2003 and I had a MRI, CT scan and finally, they took x-rays and it was the x-rays that showed 2 herniated discs! So if nothing shows up on the MRI, tell 'em to do an old-fashioned x-ray!

Oooh, slipped disc, Maggie - painful. Do hope the consultant is able to sort that out for you. There are lots of exercises to do in order to help it and I'm sure your physio will assist you with those.

Take care,
CJ x

Having had extensive surgery nearly 27 years ago for a ruptured disc at two levels ( L4 to S1, on both sides, suffered in a fall in the operating room where I was a nurse ), I don't envy you such pain. Hopefully, you will recover quickly. I have never been pain free since but it hasn't slowed me down too much. I am enjoying my second sojourn in India....spending this 5-1/2 months in Jaipur with forays to other areas.
