In The Space of a Few Days.....

In the space of a few days, I have started to enjoy Advent and am well on the way with plans for Christmas.
Since my last post, I have quite got into the the spirit of it all and was asked last Sunday, to light the first Advent candle in Church. I'm also going to sing at a few different venues with one very large choir that I belong to and a smaller group in our church.
This week I'm going to meet a friend who has come over for a short while from USA, as she and her husband are staying in a Bristol Hotel and we'll have a pub lunch along with other friends (we've done this for a few years now). I've known her since we were 10 years old at school together. She travels all over the place to catch up with her many friends in England. She's been married to an American and has lived in USA for years.

These two adorable kittens belong to my granddaughters. They are 4 months old. The grey one is a tom and the black one is his sister.
They've just been neutered and spayed but seem to be racing around as usual so can't be in any discomfort.
It's good that I can go and play with them when ever I like but don't have the responsibility of looking after them with my unpredictable health problems and circumstances.
Although they have quite a few toys, the one thing that gets them really excited is a rolled up piece of paper that they toss about and chase at full speed round the house, causing mayhem all around them.
Now they've learnt how to jump on the table, it will be interesting to see how my son gets on with the Christmas catering. I've been invited along with my daughter and grandsons.
We are fully prepared to *muck in* as son put it but hope that doesn't mean cooking the whole thing!

Oh those kitties are adorable. Yes I'm with you on the mucking in bit. It would make me twitchy as to how deep that muck is. 😋

So glad to see how your “mixed feelings” became so positive. I share your feelings about Black Friday, although here at any rate we are now “celebrating” Cyber Monday, and I must admit to being a little won over. I have bought things I would have ordered anyway and the extra per cents off and free mailing makes for an enjoyable hour or two at the computer.
I agree about the effect of liturgical music. Kings College Cambridge does it for me every time. Enjoy the rest of the Advent season.

Those are two very sweet little kitties. I have started doing some Christmas shopping but done nothing towards decorating, baking, wrapping etc.... I usually start decorating the week before Christmas, quite early enough for me. OlderSon put his decorations up on November 1!!!!!

I'm so glad that you are going to be with your American friends again.
I know you all will have a lovely time.
Those kittens are precious!! I love a baby kitty....or a puppy....babies. I love babies!!
Can't deny it. They are just soooo precious to me.
If you want to see the kittens have a whale of a time, just put a paper bag (sack) or plastic sack down on its side. They canNOT resist running smack inside of it. So adorable.
Sending you love, Maggie.
Always,
Jackie

Lovely kittens although I'm highly allergic!

They're adorable. The little black one looks just like the 16-year-old one I had to put down last year.

The kittens are adorable! We have three cats and four dogs, so yes, you are lucky you can enjoy these pets without the responsibility of caring for them, not to mention cleaning up after them:) Glad to hear you are getting into the Christmas spirit. I've gotten started, but have been sidelined the last few days with a nasty virus that is going around. I'll probably be rushing around wrapping presents the day before Christmas as usual!

You don't need to convince me about how much fun kittens can be. I love felines. I'm glad that you're getting into the spirit of the season. I hope that your Christmas will be purrfect. <3

I hope this finds you and yours doing well. May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.

I love kittens. I also love cats (which - and I've never been able understand this - some folks, who like kittens, do not especially. Just as men are only boys who grew up, cats are only kittens who grew up. How can growing up make someone not worth loving?) Anyway, I hope you're doing well, Maggie. I haven't been around much, but I'm trying to make some blog rounds to the people who still visit me and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas!

It's a good feeling being "in the mood" for Christmas. I am getting there as we've been so busy with village events. Loving the peace.
