There was something about the reflections on the water that made me take this photo when I was passing this ornamental pond.
It is quite near the sea and unfortunately, when ducklings hatch out they are seized and eaten by seagulls, so the locals tell me. However, this fine drake was one of the lucky ones, as he obviously got away with his life when he was young!
Why not visit my son Sam's blog and see the lovely photo of a duck that he took with his new camera!

Very cool photo and such a pretty duck.
Pretty duck - and very beautiful reflections on the water! Love it!
Absolutely fantastic foto! :-) A beautiful duck! Bravo!
The green head of the drake matches that of the reflection. Beautiful!

I love ducks..this is pretty gliding along the water. I'd like to get myself some again- Cheers-
Love the picture -the glimmering and shimmering of the water is really neat. So is the duck too, by the way!
I just love that deep green color on their heads!
Excellent shot Maggie May, I love the reflection.

I never heard that before. Seagulls tend to be quite aggressive sometimes.
That is such a beautiful shot. It is so peaceful looking. It looks like an awarding winning picture to me.
I love the reflection which joins the Mallard.. so lovely.
Lucky Ducky, then!

I see what you mean about the reflections, you have caught them well on film :)
so lovely, it looks like a painting....
beautiful duck enjoying her swimming. nice captured.
awesome picture of a duck swimming in the pond.
Wow. I never thought I would say this, but that is a beatiful duck! Very nice picture.
I really thought it was a painting. Beautiful.
That is a wonderful photo!
Isn't she a beauty!
Are you feeling better, Maggie?

what is happening? No photo! Blogger is eating them perhaps?
Over to Sam's place I go.
That's a really stunning photography!
Great photo Maggie - love the reflections - very effective - glad the seagulls did not eat it when young!
Nice photo and those reflections are nice and interesting. Too bad about the little duckies. :-(
Beautiful photo, Maggie May. The reflections on the pond create quite an interesting effect. So sad about the baby ducks, though.
I was going to add a comment to your last post, but there were so many I thought you might not notice. The sock question is one of those mysteries of life that I long to have answered! I'm like your daughter and keep unmatched socks for awhile in the hopes their mates return to the nest someday. I'll throw them out after awhile, only to have a few mates then reappear!
the color of this duck is so cool, and the pond...very nice
Love that shot, the reflections are beautiful. So glad he was one of the lucky ones. I really like the theme Watery Wednesday, I might add a few as I LOVE water photos (and being around water).
Have a great weekend.

That's a really great shot.
You're getting quite good at taking pictures, Maggie. I will watch what I take pictures of myself from now on.

Good eye you have! It's a beautiful bird and the reflections make the picture complete.
