Walk to the Park

Photos copyright: Maggie May

Last Tuesday, exactly one week since chemo 2, I started to really pick up energy and I decided to go to a nearby park. It involved a few hills that I tackled quite easily. It seemed strange that I was out when I would normally be at the After School Club. There were no children anywhere. In fact there were very few people out and about.
There was a sharp coldness to the afternoon and a strong breeze, yet the sun was shining in spite of that.
Just being outside in those conditions made me feel alive again. I could feel the health coming back to my body.
Everything seemed good.
I felt better.
I was better.
I had taken my camera with me as I wanted to snap something really unusual. A beautiful bird, or maybe if I was really lucky, some other wild creature that wasn't often seen.
Unfortunately the only thing that seemed alive, apart from me, was this large crow. Oh well....... perhaps next time.

You know the crow has his own beauty. It's all in how we see him. You have such talent, I wish I could have taken a shot like that. You have such skill in taking pictures. Yes, you are better, you are right. I always remember you Maggie!

I know that feeling... I'm geared up to shoot the photo I'd be happy to stare at for the rest of my life and...nothing. I'm so glad you were feeling energetic and up to the walk!

Actually I really like crows. They are very intelligent birds and can look quite spectacular in the sun!

So glad you got out and 'felt alive', the best feeling in the world.

Think you and the crow were the only two brave enough to face the cold!

I am starting to correct myself on "I felt" and saying I was. It is a good distiction. I am glad better is mmore than a feeling!

Lovely to be out in the open air Maggie. Hope the weather stays kind for you - no more snow. I like crows too, and rooks. Their caw makes me laugh, they sound so depressed and I'm sure they can't be. A x

Funny crow you got there Maggie. He looks as though he's about to catch something with his tail too.
Delighted to see you're on the "up"!

Such a joy to hear you sounding so much better and to see greenery with snow on the ground. Mr Crow seems to be enjoying his outing as well...maybe he found a thawed out worm to munch on. I'm glad you are doing well in spite of chemo whirling through your body doing what is important for you!

Blessings and love from the lovely, but wet, San Francisco!

Glad you are feeling so much better, Mum. Was very moving how the cold weather actually made you feel alive. You never know, maybe next time you won't have to go far to encounter a more beautiful creature. Maybe one will come to your back garden. Just make sure you have the camera ready! Love Debs!

So good to know the feeling that came over you as you were out and about in the park, Maggie. Magnificnet that you felt that liveliness and health returning to your body. It just makes chills stand up on my arms...I'm so thrilled about it, my friend.
I'm glad you had your camera...and that you took photos to share with us. I can't be there with you....but love being there with you through your words and photos. And you know that we are always together in Spirit. Continued peace and good feeling for you...may they wash over you like the breeze did last Tuesday!
Love to you from Jackie

Hey, crows are OK, so long as they're not cawing and being all noisy. They have a lovely purplish-shine if you look closely.

Glad to hear you had an enjoyable day, and that you felt good. That;s the best part of this. Prayers continue!

What a lovely happy post. So glad you are feeling better. I'm sure some fresh air and sunlight would do us all good at this time of year, but especially for you. Roll on Spring!

Oh, gosh, Maggie, you are one tough crow. :-) And I mean that in a good way -- crows are fabulous.

I often think about you and wonder how you're doing.

Crows -those scornful birds -but the "caw-caw" of their voices today, as I could imagine hearing them through your post, were singing such beautiful music. How great it is to hear you say that you felt so good! Your system, your attitude, your spunkiness is definitely kicking into gear, full speed ahead!
Best post I've read in a long, long time now!

Those ol' chatterboxes can be good company. At least they're willing to do the talking....Stay well, friend.
