Our weather has turned out really stormy and wet lately and today we had warnings of structural damage through high winds. I braved the storm to go out to the shops and was really buffeted by the wind and was like a half drowned animal when I returned home. However, a week ago the weather was much more congenial and one morning I was asked by my son, Sam, whether I was up to going for a walk with his newly acquired dogs round the local park, which was a bit of a surprise as I don't see so much of him these days. I said I would go if he didn't race on ahead. It was a fine day and I took my stick. It would be good to catch up with all our different news while we walked. I managed to keep up very well and once we reached the park, the dogs raced on ahead obviously disturbing something.
It wasn't long before I spied a little creature and quick as a flash I managed to retrieve my camera from the bottom of my bag.
The trouble was, it was quick as a flash too and I had no time to zoom in.
Look closely......can you spot what I saw?

Ah spotted the squirrel!
ha, stay hidden little squirrel...smiles...its nice to get out and walk....
You did well to spot him, let alone get a picture!*smiles*
You were fast! These happy encounters make our day!
See it! Great to get out for a stroll when there's a break in the weather. We are having one too, real sunshine!
I am glad to hear that you managed to keep up with Sam and I hope you also had a good conversation. Hopefully that walk didn't wear you out tto much but it is probably good to get some exercise and fresh air. I think I spot a squirrel but it could be a dove also. xox
You did well to capture him!
We have a few of them in our garden, which I'm not too keen on as they dig up plants in pots to hide the nuts they steal from the bird feeders! Guess it's hard-wired into them to hoard for colder weather.
Good you got out for a walk, especially before the cold weather set in; it's very cold here tonight!
We have a lot of them in Chicago and they don't half tease the dogs. They sit, just out of reach, and make this funny noise which is almost like a barking and something else. The dogs go nuts!
Cute shot, Maggie. You'd love "Mamma" - a black squirrel who is mother to at least three litters over the past few years. She's jet black with a white tipped tail (old age or just a fluke.. we're not sure). She's becoming very bold, scampering up to the back deck, standing on back legs and looking into our eyes.. imploring us to toss just one more peanut. And of course we always do. Thanks for sharing your cutie.. quick as a flash. :)
He might blend pretty well into that tree but your camera nailed him in that pose! Great pic, Maggie!
Camouflaged so that he is difficult to see!
Great shot! Isn't lovely to take a stroll in these more temperate months? Hope you are doing well!
Without the grey would we be so appreciative of these little glipses of sunshine and wildlife?
I spotted him...what wonderful trees surround you
Hugs

Hi Maggie! Good to see you're still blogging...and you seem good! I'll have to read backwards to catch up!! xoxoxo
Walking and talking - reunions and sun - sounds like a winning combination.
Now that I'm home from India - & eating more, I need to get out and walk so I can keep off the 35 pounds I lost. I hope to go back in May after the last April arrival of my first grandchild.
Had a great Thanksgiving with my three sons and my daughter-in-law who is now in her 4th month of pregnancy.
Awww it's a cheeky squidgel!!!
Yay - it's a squirrel - I love seeing them, they always make me smile :)
Congratulations on capturing this clever squirrel after all, Maggie! I know if my dogs take off like a flash, they're after either a rabbit or a squirrel, too. They've never managed to catch one yet:)
Squirrels are speedy little critters.
