Photo is the copyright of Maggie May.
This photo was taken while walking along a canal with my daughter and grandsons, on the east coast of England. We walked for miles along the side of the canal and had a very pleasant time. It was taken in the Autumn of last year, not long after the children had lost their dad. It has bitter sweet memories for me, but it is a lovely stretch of waterway.
Watery Wednesday is hosted by 2sweetnsaxy. Look at the great photos over there, if you have time.

Very nice picture to go with your bitter sweet memories.
The canal looks alot like the one around here only ours has less water.
Beautiful photo Maggie, in harsh contrast with your family's terrible time, I hope that you are all finding peace.
God Bless,

Nice and special scenery! Even if the memories from that time is bitter sweet.
I am not used to canals like that, so for me it looks only sweet!
So many boats on the canal! Is it always that busy? Great photo.
Scenic shot and lovely watery post. Have a nice day.
Very busy canal. You will forever connect these two memories together.
There is a lot to take in in this beautiful shot. Lovely walk!
Cherish the memories, very nice photo. God bless.

Autumn is my favorite time for walks and this looks like a lovely place to stroll with much to see and enjoy.
Treasure the memories. I'm sure the children do too.
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Maggie May, so sorry for the memories, but the canal looks a long stretch of water ways, could accommodate a lot of boats. Have a great week!
What a lovely way to remember than to walk along the canal.
A beautiful photo Maggie May, especially knowing it has such memories. ((hugs))

Lovely jumble of water-life. David and I used to have a share in a narrow-boat and later a Dutch barge. All great fun, but sadly got too much for my legs to be leaping about on and off!
Love Granny
That looks a very beautiful and interesting place.
Bitter sweet memories are a strange sort aren't they?
Very nice pictures of what seems a beautiful area.
Lovely. I am always fascinated by the "roses and castles" imagery on barges.
I remember that, when you walked there and how all of your feelings were the. I liked the canal boats and how narrow they were and I wondered how people could live on them. That was a tough time, wasn't it, Maggie? So many mixed feelings. Aren't you glad at least this much time has passed already?
What a beautiful photo, especially when enlarged.
It is a lovely scene. Hopefully over time, your memories will become sweeter and not so sad. Take care.
Beautiful photo and a beautiful spot. Nature can go a long way towards healing.
Beautiful photo. Hugs to you.
I love to walk by canals, it's always so friendly and interesting. So sorry to read about your loss.
Canal boats always look colourful and interesting. I hope that time is dulling the pain.
Excellent photo, love the reflection on the very still water!
Glad to see your enjoying the walk!
Lovely photo. So much of life seems to be bittersweet these days.
Or are we getting older and wiser?
Beautiful picture Maggie!

Beautiful snap is sharp contrast to terrible time faced by the family.
English canals and thei traffic can be most photogenin.
I am so sorry at your loss.
Memories are always bitter sweet I think...lovely photo Mags, and I'm glad you shared it and the memories with us.

What interesting little boats in the water. Sorry about your bittersweet memories. :-(
It's strange how beautiful places can have bittersweet memories isn't it?
Bitter sweet describes it perfectly. Hopefully you are now building much happier memories.
I love the canals and all the houseboats that come with them, and your photo captures their feel well.
Some places are precious. I understand. Beautiful picture.
