Sticking It Out

Photo Copyright: Maggie May

Looking through my window, I noticed the poppies had opened. Yesterday they were in tight bud.
It is amazing what can happen in just one day even though the weather is not very warm or bright.

Harry is not taking to chemo very well, though he started off fine. He has already passed out on me twice today. Fortunately, my son was here at the time because I cannot lift him. He is too heavy and I suffer from disc problems.
Though I can get him into recovery position.

It isn't easy for me to watch him struggle with symptoms as I know what it is like. However, I do know that he should feel a bit better in a few days.
Some people sail through chemo....... but others struggle with it.
No one knows until it happens to them.
its a question of sticking it out and waiting for the bad things to pass.

Maggie, give our love to Harry, and let him know we are praying for better days.

And while I'm here, I hafta say how much I love this photo. Would you have any objections to me trying to copy it as a watercolor?

Best to you both,

Oh dear. I have a friend who was allergic to hers and they tried a few different ones. Can they do that for Harry?

Sorry to hear about Harry not doing well, Maggie. Is there anything that can be done? I hope he doesn't hit his head when he passes out. The best of luck to both of you.

The poppies are very pretty.

Maggie I am so sorry for you both, bad enough that you had to go through it yourself, but now to see Harry suffer too, it is a lot to bear.

I am glad Sam is there for you.

Thinking of you all

Hugs

I know sympathy doesn't help but it is all I have to offer. Along with my very best wishes that this, too, will pass.

Thank you, Luv!

I WILL give it a go, watercolor-wise, and will be happy to post it as well.

(hoping I can do it justice!)

Chemo can be nasty. I hope he does not have to go too often. If he fights this strugle and comes out with strength he might be able to reduce future ones. My prayers are with him.

Very true, Maggie, that some people just breeze through chemo whilst others -well, unfortunately some other folks do have a lot of side issues. I was lucky I think in that my first go-round, before surgery in 2003, I had no problems. Then when I had to have chemo after the surgery -7 months worth -I did have some nausea for a day or two after the first 2-3 treatments but after that, nothing of consequence. This last time -from September thru December -even though it was a different type of chemo that was apparently much stronger and each treatment this last time took close to 4 hours to run through, I had no nausea issues nor any other problems with the chemo. But I did have a lot of pain with the shots I had to get two days after each treatment. Those injections always left me feeling like I'd been run over by a train for anywhere from 1 to 3 days! Hope he adjust soon to the chemo though as that has to be really difficult as well as downright scary for you to have to deal with that!
