I've just spent a pleasant weekend with my daughter and two grandsons and the weather behaved itself while they were staying with me.
15 yr old Dean drew this sketch from a picture which I thought was very good. Apart from his older brother Rick, who is on the autistic spectrum and doesn't like socialising or going out very much, we had a walk on Saturday all around Clifton Suspension Bridge and The Downs (beauty spots of Bristol) and found ourselves laughing a lot and we all enjoyed the fresh air and exercise very much. We then came home and enjoyed a game of Scrabble and then sent out for a Chinese Take away just to round everything off.
The visit was over too quickly and now they are home again but the sunny spell is still with us and I've noticed the daffodils quite suddenly are now in flower. That seemed to happen almost overnight without me noticing.
Maybe Spring is Springing!

What a lovely day Maggie. And I'm glad the weather was kind. Dean is very talented..that's an excellent drawing xx
That's a fabulous sketch, he's very talented! Glad to hear you had a nice weekend. It's quite Springlike here, though the wind has a bit of a chill on it. Nice to see some sunshine though. :)
Talented boy - love the sketch, spent time in Bristol back in the day and loved the suspension bridge.
So glad you enjoyed your day !

Dean is a very talented young man.
I am so happy to see an example of his work.
Like Dean, I loved to draw, and I take my hat off to anyone who loves to draw.
He is very talented!
Funny how buoyed we feel with company and how everything feels fresh with growth at this time of the year. Good to hear.
Dean has a good eye and talent. Envy your walk and the daffodils, sounds like fun.
What a lovely family time you all had - and what a talented young man!!!! It must be wonderful to be able to draw so well!! So glad the weather behaved and you enjoyed the sunshine.
I think it is Maggie! I love to see the daffodils poking their brave little heads above the parapet!
Delighted that you had such a good weekend with your daughter.

Sounds like a most wonderful weekend. It's been bone dry in northern California since my return from India...we're having one of the worst drought in years. Today, thankfully, there was a little rain.
I miss India but I am enjoying my 10-month-old granddaughter though she does wear me out!!!
Your grandson is quite the artist. He has talent. I suspect he'll just get better and better as time goes on.
Here's to spring weather. Somebody ought to enjoy some.. I'm glad that it's you. Perhaps we'll be next.. yeah, right! ;)
He really did a great job with that train sketch. Sounds like a lovely day.
Your grandson is quite talented! I hope spring sticks around for you, and the rainy days are over for awhile.
That is a superb sketch!
And lucky you -- hurray for spring!
I'm so happy you had such a great visit, and that the sun was shining!! Your grandson is very talented. It will be a very long time before daffodils are in bloom here. My mother who lives about 300 miles away said her daffodils were suddenly up and had buds on them also. Here, I have seen a fourth of an inch of the points of the daffodils coming out of the ground. Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.
