The picture sums up tranquility, history, a smell of old and new country smells, a soft breeze flowing through the beams and the ghosts of those gone before. Very evocative. Great picture.
Retired grandmother of four. I'm a cancer survivor. I enjoy reading, writing, leisurely walking and looking at other people's gardens and pottering in mine. Living at a more leisurely pace these days.

Wow, that looks an amazing bit of roof!
Gosh! Where was that taken, Maggie.
Thought at first it might be your kitchen roof with the ceiling plaster removed. Eddie X
Lovely patterns there, we take it all for granted, don't we. A x
Grrrrr! Was just about to blog about the same thing! My post was going to be "Guess where this is" so go ahead and guess!

Boy did they know how to build in those days? Is it in an old barn?
They just don't make houses/barns like that anymore! So complex, so intricate! Great shot!
Great photo, Maggie May! Is this in an old windmill?
Soothing - I am not sure why I find that so, but I do. Maybe it is because it reminds me of history, simpler times, the basics of life.
Smiles!
Is that Montebello? With the four fireplaces? Beautiful shot.
Wowzer! That is so incredible it almost leaves me wordless!
wow!! that looks so cool!! great shot!!
Great photo! My first thought was an old mill and I see that Rose thought the same thing. You will let us know what sort of building it was, I hope??
That's a great shot - where is it?
I hate the fact that it's wordless, because there is so much explaining to do. I have questions, Maggie!
Imagine the work that would have gone into that. I commend the workmanship.

Do you think that rats would dare to set up home in that roof?
Well..... I had some great suggestions there....... not a windmill or a barn and nothing to do with Montebello!
I would like to think it was my kitchen roof! But alas it is not. Rats would really love to scamper about there.
I will be posting the outside of this building in next weeks Wordless Wednesday, when all will be revealed. Sorry to keep you waiting!
Wow. I wish there were words!
Looks very old.
How cool! Is that an old barn?
