My Grand Children.

Photos copyright: Maggie May

I just loved Millie's colourful collage that I put on the fridge door.
She has settled in her Reception class very well. She especially seems to love Art and English.
The picture at the bottom of the post seems typical of much of her art work. She draws lots of friends holding hands and this picture represents her friendly nature.

She has a thirst for learning that is hard to describe.

Amber is also very good at reading and spelling. I find it hard to imagine her coming to England unable to communicate in English only two years ago. She has many friends and seems to be going to parties regularly. A real little all rounder.

My oldest grandson, Rick (who has autistic spectrum disorder) has now received a statement at school, which will mean that he gets 21 hours a week of extra help. He really needs this help as without it he tends to mess around and doesn't get motivated.
He is fairly intelligent and just needs to be guided, though his social skills are very behind average.

Dean, his younger brother, just loves Sam, my son, who he looks to as the father figure that is lacking in his life. He just won't leave him alone when he comes over from the east coast.
The two boys were here last week and they had such a good time when they all got together. The cousins spent hours on the wii in the attic and were no trouble at all.
I am so proud of all my grandchildren and they give me so much pleasure. Their photos are everywhere about the house.

Grandchildren are God's gift to us for being a mother don't you think? :)

Sam must have sensed Millie would give you multi-coloured drawings when he put the wee multi-coloured tiles in your new kitchen!

And the help approved for Rick must be a huge relief for you all, especially your darling daughter.

Sending care, huggles, love and purrrumbling, Michelle and Zebbycat

It's so great to see the artwork on display : ) Sometimes it's hard to open my refrigerator, but my kids always know that I value their creations : )

Those are certainly a colourful bunch of friends - bit like all our blogland buddies, eh?!

I just want to echo Akelamalu's comment! Grandchildren make everything worthwhile, don't they? So glad to hear that Rick is getting the extra help he needs; this should make a world of difference for him.

By the way, I've run out of room on my refrigerator door for any more "artwork":)

Love the kids' art work! Maya and I had a little disagreement this past Wednesday and she knew I was quite peeved with her. I had to go out to the grocery store for a very quick run and when I returned home, she presented me with a little drawing -of a woman's face -and above it she had printed: I love you Gram! Her way of making up I presume. I've been meaning to scan it and put it up on my blog and keep forgetting to do that.
The hours for help for the grandson, Rick, is really a very good thing! Maya had a tss when she initially started kindergarten but they have now stopped that service for her as she is doing very well in school. However, because her main issues are in the social skills area and some of her at-home behaviors are not the best, they are going to provide a mobile therapist -one who comes to the home -to work with her here and hopefully, nip some of those issue in the bud.
And, as my neighbor up the street says "If I'd known grandchildren were so great, I'd have had them first." And that is really the Gospel truth there, isn't it?

What happiness grandchildren bring....!!
The smiles on the drawings of the friends that are holding hands are beautiful...an indication of the heart of the artist.
God bless all your grandchildren.
Love,
Jackie

And that is just how it should be. My parents have just had a lovely weekend spoiling my daughter rotten, but that's what grandparents are for. You've been blessed with four gorgeous grandchildren to dote on and how lucky they are to have you as their grandma!

Grandchildren are a joy aren't they Maggie. I love to see them, though it's not very frequent, even with the ones who live close by. I just love to see how they are progressing and think how amazing they are.

How lovely Maggie, so pleased they all get on.

I forgot your daughter was over at half term, hope you all had a great time and that you felt up to it.

Glad your grandson has that statement.

Oh, Miss Maggie! I LOVE their artwork. And I loved learning more about them. They seem so delightful :) Hopefully that extra help will greatly benefit your grandson. Kaishon is in learning support. I am proud of him and thankful that he is learning and loving school now. It never mattered to me that he be the smartest kid in his class. It did matter to me that he be kind and happy : )

Our children's art work! I have kept every thing, somewhere in the depths of the cupboard is just about every scrap they've made. Should I post some and embaress the heck out of them all these many years later? All of them are artistic...Sazzie would do more and now she probably will...No, one and only son is a graphic designer and LM the baby. while messing around one day, painted a picture which I have on my bedroom wall.

Keep keeping on dear Maggie.
