Yesterday, Friday, 12th, Harry and I went to lunch with my brother, Eddie Bluelights and sister in law Maria. It was good to be able to catch up on all our news and as usual, Maria put a lovely meal on the table that we really enjoyed.
Actually, when I come to think of it, none of us are in particularly good health right now but Eddie is the only one who is having problems getting out of a chair or walking across the room and it is awful to see him struggling like this, in pain, as he is normally such an active person.
He was due to have his operation today.
*********
I have just heard from Maria, that Ed had his operation this morning and was the second on the list.
He is apparently sitting out of bed eating a light supper! Hows that for the path to recovery? Marvellous I think.
If there is any different news, then I will add bits onto this post. I will leave it on for a few days.
My daughter and grandsons are on their way, so I have been informed by phone.
Have a good weekend everyone, mine will be busy!

Hi Maggie,

Yay! Great news. Now you can get down to the business of having fun with the grandkids and your daughter.
Glad to hear he is doing well!
Wonderful news, please bring Eddie my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Tell him all the ladies in Italy are waiting for him to trot over here!
Lola xx
What good news! Hope he goes from strength to strength!
Such good news. Every day he will get better and better. Eating hospitasl food, now that is something-Lots of love and gentle hugs Eddie darlin'.
Speaking as a woman who has had both of her hips replaced (four years apart) I can say it is the best thing I ever did. Like Eddie, I really couldn't walk, sleep, drive, sit or do anything without pain. May last surgery was January 2008 and I am pain free. Tell him I said HI and to do his exercises faithfully ~ it makes all the difference.
Wonderful to hear, Maggie. Thanks so much for letting us know. Hugs to you.
Glad Eddie's operation went well.
Have fun with your loved ones.

So glad to hear it was uneventful and that Eddie's on the mend.
Great news., maggie! Thanks for letting us know, and do give him my best. My bro had this op 7 years ago, both hips, and is in flying form ever since.I told Eddie about him on a previous comment.
Eddie- hope you've a speedy and long-lasting recovery.
Good news! I'm glad Eddie is doing so well. My sister had both of her hips replaced. Seems like it's not as big an operation like it used to be. Techniques change over time.
Have a wonderful, happy, and busy weekend with your family.
Great to hear Eddie is doing well! Make sure things don't get too out of hand between him and the nurses...
Here's wishing Eddie a speedy recovery xxx
Love and best wishes to a family full of fabulous people!
Lovely to all have a delicious lunch together. Glad to hear Bro is doing well and my best wishes to you all, also. A x
Here's wishing Eddie a speedy recovery. I know from experience (I had a knee replacement 3 years ago) that they don't keep you in bed when you have joints replaced. My Dad had a hip replacement at the age of 80 and it transformed his life.
Have a lovely time with your family.
Being busy is sometimes good medicine, as long as you don't over do it.
Glad Eddie is on the mend so soon.
:)
Isn't it awful that we have to get older. I don't mind the age, but with it comes problems! Love to you, Harry, Eddie and Maria. Hope you enjoy your daughter and the children being with you. Love, Ann xx
Wonderful news about Eddie! Thanks so much for letting us know. Many thoughts and prayers for his speedy recovery! Enjoy the grandkids!
Good to hear your news, Maggie, and glad to hear Eddie is sitting up and enjoying supper! Hxx
I e-mailed Eddie, but I wanted to thank you for this update on his progress. He has been in my prayers. I hope that he continues to get better and better. Thank you, Maggie.
Good to hear that everything went well and Eddie is making a good recovery.
Great news. Best wishes to Eddie and his family and tell him not to over do it!
Well done you for still being here and blogging despite everything - and enjoy your time with your family!
Much love. xoxoxox
Good and solacing news to hear that Eddie is out of anesthesia and operative trauma and has started accepting orally. That's a very good earliest sign of fast post-operative recovery, after 24 hours of surgery.
As I had said earlier that a humorous personality like Eddie normally has high blood levels of adaptive and stress-buster hormones like Corticoids,Growth hormones,IGF etc.which stimulate and boost his/her immune system and good health.
I'm sure and confident with all my fingers upright straight that he shall be discharged at least 2-3 days earlier than usual patients...dr.ss yadav.
That is great news!
'sending lots of hugs and kisses your way!
I hope that by the time you read this, Maggie, that Eddie is feeling much better. My aunt has been waiting for months for knee replacements and now has been told she can't have it done until June. Meanwhile, she has to hobble around in pain. Modern medicine can do so much these days--Eddie will be so glad he had this done once he has fully recovered. Wishing him a speedy recovery!
Congrats to Eddie on his successful surgery and of course to the Surgeons, as well! Our prayers for a speedy recovery will be added to the list (including you, Mags!)Keep us posted on his progress...
hugs
Sandi
Thanks for the update! Eddie is such a nice guy. He's one of my favorite people of all I've met via blogging.
(As are you, of course!)
Those walking sticks ought to slow him down!
Glad to know he's doing great.
How are you, Maggie May??
I'm so glad to hear that Eddie is coming along. My sister had that same surgery and has done quite well, despite other health concerns.
