A Slice of My Easter.

Photo Copyright: Maggie May

I had a very hectic but lovely Easter because I had all my family come to stay with me. As usual all four grand children got along fine ......... in fact we hardly saw them because they played on the wii in the loft most of the time. As they are aged 5 yrs -14 yrs this seemed remarkable.

Some of the days were really sunny but cool and I managed to walk to a hilly park with my son as I hadn't had much exercise prior to that.
Bristol is a hilly city and it isn't possible to go very far without a steep hill to climb and Brandon Hill is no exception. I was really puffed out by the time I got to the top as my cells are probably not repaired from their last onslaught of chemo. However it is possible to look out all over the city and the views are amazing. What a pity that there are alterations going on and scaffolding and builders equipment lying around.
It was lovely to see the blossom on the trees, though.

On Easter Monday we went to Birmingham to see the grand sons' other nanny and I really enjoyed the visit very much. I came back with a little plant for my garden and with inspiration to do some charity knitting that the other nanny is doing. Of course if I do this, then I will have to send the knitted things to her because I can't find anything similar in Bristol.

Today everyone will be going home and it will be just the two of is again. I shall miss the company and commotion very much but I shall have heaps of washing to do and it won't be long till next Tuesday when I have to have my next chemo session if I am well enough. It comes round so quickly.............. sigh.

Sounds like it was the perfect Easter. You must be quite tired now, and in need of some rest before the next round of chemo. Take care Maggie

What a lovely display of blossom. So glad you had a lovely holiday and felt strong enough to tackle that hill.

We celebrated our family Easter Dinner on Saturday evening as that was the only time my son and his girlfriend as well as my older daughter and her family could all be here but it was a nice evening. My Easter Ham, glazed using a recipe I got from one of my blogger buddies (Cajun Delight written by Marguerite) and I was a bit worried at first that the family wouldn't care for this glaze but it was very well received. (There was so little of it left over that there wasn't enough to serve up as a leftover meal then on Sunday which is a big bonus in my book as sometimes, leftovers stay as leftovers forever, or so it seems.)
I really love this picture you posted today -so pretty, so serene looking too. And yes, the appointments for the next chemo always seem to come upon us very quickly but then too, the faster they come and go, the sooner you will be all done with them then too. And back to regaining your strength completely -good as new!
Peace.

Sounds fantastic. Though, you need to take care of your self.

Beautiful tree and I'm so glad you had a great Easter. I wish I could encourage you more with the chemo, but you know what to expect and at least thats...comforting (?) not really. I know.

How nice it is for you to have all your family together. What a joy that must be. I don't envy you your chemo treatments, but I do envy you your grandchildren so close by. Keep hanging in there, Maggie. You're doing great!

Glad you had a wonderful Easter, Maggie! Nothing like having all the family nearby, especially the grandkids to share the day with you. I miss the grandkids when they leave, but at the same time I appreciate the peace and quiet for a little while:)

And you're down to the last chemo, if I'm not mistaken?

I'm glad you had such a good easter with family. That's what holidays are all about. I take my hat off to you climbing hills. I rarely do! Like my walks on straight paths.

Your tree is so pretty in full blossom.

Good luck with chemo. I hope it will soon be over.
Hugs

Well, Maggie, at least you had a nice, somewhat chaotic Easter break and you held your own. Good, too, that you had some outdoors time in the nice sunshine, with trees in bloom.

I'll bet the weeks do go by very fast! Hope this bout of chemo doesn't throw you for a loop. Prayers, hugs, and good wishes.

The washing always piles up to bring us back down to earth with a bump, after a nice visit!Just as well the memory of the good bits makes it all worth while! :)
