The "Nosey" House

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

This is a very strange thing to fix on to the side of a house! I took the photo when I was travelling some time ago and thought it was worth a picture!
I should imagine that birds would love to nest in the nose but didn't see any evidence of them doing so. Was not sure whether to call this story "The house that knows" or " The nosey house,"so you can take your pick! Oh......... pardon the pun! Did you get it?!

It is quite unusual as the nose is made of wicker and is somehow or other fastened to the wall. I have never seen anything quite like it before. Just happened to stumble across it!

So there you are, not much of a story this time!
This was prepared for Photostory Friday which is hosted by Cicely and MamaGeek.

So very strange, but yet, so cool! I'd love to have that on the side of my house - if I had my own house. If I decided to settle anywhere that is.

Hope things have calmed down a little bit for you and your family. My thoughts are still with you.

Take care,
Peter

The picture speaks for itself. What a strange contraption to have on the side of your house! Certainly worth a photo. Well discovered!

At first, I thought it was some kind of hornet's nest. Weird -for sure -but yes, very interesting.

Incredible what people will do to look down their nose at the neighbours.

Very cool. You'd need you whole arm to pick that thing.

What a strange object! Do you think it is suposed to really be a nose or do you think it has a function but just happens to look like a nose?! Perhaps something lives up the 'nostrils'? Take your pick..very clever :)

That is so funny. My uncle has a kind of obsession with noses, he will love this picture. Where was it?

very interesting. I'd have to stop and take a picture of it too.

I sure wouldn't want that on my house. So strange!
Maybe one of the owners is an ear, nose and throat doctor and you just didn't see the other two oddball nests.

Perhaps it's just there to smell the flowers. Strange indeed--not something I would put on my house!

Too bad they didn't have eyes and mouth to go with it. Do you suspect that maybe it was a charm to keep colds and hay-fever away?

I just dread to think what it's going to look like in the winter with icicles hanging off!!!

Hi Maggie, it's been a while since I've been here. I liked the story about your brother and the keys.

I don't know why anyone would even make a wicker nose, let alone hang one on his house. I suppose swallows could nest up there really well. Maybe it's a Chinese man who likes bird's nest soup.

That is very interesting..... too bad that you don't know the story behind it!

I've never seen anything like this either! No wonder you took a picture. I think it's kinda neat. And I Love "the house that knows"!

So who knows about the nose?

Well spotted ... great picture. I do love these quirky things ... it does make you wonder what were they thinking?
