Eddie Bluelight's Hip Replacement

Yesterday, Friday, 12th, Harry and I went to lunch with my brother, Eddie Bluelights and sister in law Maria. It was good to be able to catch up on all our news and as usual, Maria put a lovely meal on the table that we really enjoyed.
Actually, when I come to think of it, none of us are in particularly good health right now but Eddie is the only one who is having problems getting out of a chair or walking across the room and it is awful to see him struggling like this, in pain, as he is normally such an active person.
He was due to have his operation today.

*********
I have just heard from Maria, that Ed had his operation this morning and was the second on the list.
He is apparently sitting out of bed eating a light supper! Hows that for the path to recovery? Marvellous I think.
If there is any different news, then I will add bits onto this post. I will leave it on for a few days.
My daughter and grandsons are on their way, so I have been informed by phone.
Have a good weekend everyone, mine will be busy!

Speaking as a woman who has had both of her hips replaced (four years apart) I can say it is the best thing I ever did. Like Eddie, I really couldn't walk, sleep, drive, sit or do anything without pain. May last surgery was January 2008 and I am pain free. Tell him I said HI and to do his exercises faithfully ~ it makes all the difference.

Good news! I'm glad Eddie is doing so well. My sister had both of her hips replaced. Seems like it's not as big an operation like it used to be. Techniques change over time.

Have a wonderful, happy, and busy weekend with your family.

Here's wishing Eddie a speedy recovery. I know from experience (I had a knee replacement 3 years ago) that they don't keep you in bed when you have joints replaced. My Dad had a hip replacement at the age of 80 and it transformed his life.

Have a lovely time with your family.

Being busy is sometimes good medicine, as long as you don't over do it.

Glad Eddie is on the mend so soon.

Good and solacing news to hear that Eddie is out of anesthesia and operative trauma and has started accepting orally. That's a very good earliest sign of fast post-operative recovery, after 24 hours of surgery.

As I had said earlier that a humorous personality like Eddie normally has high blood levels of adaptive and stress-buster hormones like Corticoids,Growth hormones,IGF etc.which stimulate and boost his/her immune system and good health.

I'm sure and confident with all my fingers upright straight that he shall be discharged at least 2-3 days earlier than usual patients...dr.ss yadav.

I hope that by the time you read this, Maggie, that Eddie is feeling much better. My aunt has been waiting for months for knee replacements and now has been told she can't have it done until June. Meanwhile, she has to hobble around in pain. Modern medicine can do so much these days--Eddie will be so glad he had this done once he has fully recovered. Wishing him a speedy recovery!
