Little Bronze Jug.

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

This little jug is very old. Maybe getting on for a hundred years! In fact it belonged to my Grandmother. I don't suppose it is valuable as it was being sold in a market place, where it was stolen. It was stolen by my mother, when she was a small toddler. She must have been attracted to the colour because when the two of them returned home, it was firmly clenched in my mother's hand.
My Grandmother, who was a very honest and upright lady, went straight back and paid for it. So in the end, it was legitimately hers.
I always liked this little jug when I was a child, so recently took the photo to go with the story. Is it supposed to be the other way round? Oh well... that's the way it was!

I am reasonably pleased with the photo. I took several and this was the best of the bunch, but it is not perfect!
Any way, I'm sure you'll agree it does come with an interesting story!

It is a really cute little jug and who knows, the age alone of it may make it at least somewhat valuable other than for its sentimentality for you. Never can tell about those things, ya know!

You did it!

I like the story that went with the photo. I bet she liked the picture on it!

I had to move my blog. I hope you'll come to see me there. Love, Nora.

Even if the value isn't that much, the story behind it makes it priceless!!

I love that little story. You really do publish some lovely posts. It is easy to see why you are so popular!

I have been working on the tag you gave me since Monday and I have finally published it. Hope you don't find it too naff!

Sweet story. As a child I once stole a grape in a grocery store (by eating it) and my mom still insisted I pay for it. It was a powerful lesson. I'm honest (to a fault) even to this day!

I've got a vase just like that. It was my auntie's; I wonder if she stole it!

I think this is a perfect way to record that fun story for your family history!

I think it was worth taking the photo for the story! It's great.

Your mum's claim to fame - thieving!! lol

Great story and a great photo. Lovely looking jug.

How kind of your grandmother to have bought it for your mother and not just return it.
Suburbia told me I should visit, and I've been reading your past posts about camera woes. I can totally relate to this; in fact, I just wrote something similar today. Good thing I don't have any nearby neighbors to see me chasing around a dragonfly in my jammies:)

Your treasure certainly has meaning behind it! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Maggie, I thought Cecily and MamaGeek had made up the story to go with the jug to fool us readers as a joke. I didn't mean to imply that you lied about it. I assumed they wrote this post, I didn't realize you did. It was a misunderstanding on my part. I apologize sincerely.

It's a great story, and a good photo to go with it. Things like that have such sentimental value that they are priceless, fancy your Mum having put it in her pocket as such!

I can't decide which is more charming--the little jug or the story.

I'm with San-- the story is great on it's own, but now you have a jug to pass down with it. Nice PSF.
Have a great weekend.
