The Story Of The Three Bears!

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

This is a photo story hosted by Cicily and MamaGeek. It is held every Friday. It is my story and my photo.
This week I have again taken a photo to fit the story. I expect you are thinking that my pictures are not up to scratch and that I am really a story teller.
The sad looking bear in the blue scarf and jumper was mine when I was a baby. So he is a bit older than me, I should think and survived World War Two! However, he was to undergo many other things in his life, as my slightly younger brother knew just how to wind me up when he flung my bear repeatedly out of the upstairs window and onto the rockery below. It is no wonder that he has lost much of his hair and has a gammy arm. (I am talking about my bear now, not my brother!) I have never wanted to part with my bear that was called, Teddy, who sits on top of a book case with some of his friends.

The bear in pink is five years younger and belonged to a friend who I don't see now. He looks as though he had an injury over his right eye, but she didn't have brothers or sisters to knock him about. She must have done it herself! I don't really know how I came to have him in the first place. Maybe she wanted to clear up her house and thought I was an eccentric person to pass it on to! If she is reading this, please take him back.
Little bear belonged to my daughter when she was a bit older than a baby. He is a "suck a thumb" teddy and has a little open mouth & a huge thumb to stick in it. I think she took it to her house when she got married and I'm sure her boys played with him when they were much younger. One day when I was staying over at her place I noticed a big bag of toys that were bundled up for charity and I couldn't resist looking in! "What!" I exclaimed, "Are you throwing out 'suck a thumb' bear?"
I took him home & he sits near my computer. Mad or what?
Next time I will try and pick a real photo!

As my technical support is not here, I am sorry the text has gone a bit strange. Beyond my control!

I'm having huge problems with Blogger this morning, couldn't even get into my blog to do my PSF. Will keep trying.

Anyway, I love your bears, the photo is cute. I don't have any teddies from my childhood, but I do like daughter's, especially "Bellamy Bunny". Perhaps I can snaffle him?

I love all bears. My son called his two 'Birkle' and 'Floon' - we never knew why!

I LOVE it! This is what blogging is for: recording YOUR history in YOUR way! Don't change a thing!

I'd have rescued the bear too. I'm sentimental that way!

Cute, cute, cute, cute, CUTE! I only own one teddy bear, from when I broke my arm when I was ten years old and had to stay in hospital for four days. I was so well looked after I didn't want to leave! She is called Nanu after my doctor x

maggie, I hate to say this but you have just given me an idea for a short post I can still squeeze in, today. I *was* having one off!

That IS a real story and picture!!! What a beautiful collection of teddy bears. They have REAL meanings.

Very, very sweet. There's something about teddy bears that makes it a crime against humanity to throw them away. The tattier the better I say!

I have a Teddy Bear which belonged to my dad and my brother and is pretty old. Then I have my bear, which I got when I was about 10, lost and then got a new one. Wow. there is a story I'll have to tell some time.

I don't have my bear from when I was little, but I'm fairly sure that my Mum has kept it. In her old house it used to sit on a chair on the landing with a bear from her childhood, but she has moved house since then, so not sure where they have gone to!

Fun bear stories.

There was NOTHING wrong with that photo. Those bears are seriously priceless!

Don't apologize for the photo! I like the story part (of PSF) better than the photo part, actually (which I like a LOT). I like the images from a story to mull around in my mind, and this was fun. Have a great weekend!

My bear will be very jealous of your bears as he doesn't have clothes.

I love your bears! I have five bears sitting on my bed. :)

This IS a real photo! And the text looks fine to me...

I think there is history behind every bear. I know there is with mine. I don't understand why childhood bears would be thrown out or given away - but then I am a bit of a hoarder!

I wish had my teddy bear from my childhood, but it is long gone. You are not mad, merely sentimental. I kept many of my children's favorite animals, even when they were beyond hope (the animals, that is, not them).

I don't know if you've looked under my knitting label on my sidebar Maggie - but I make hand-knitted teddy bears and sell them.

I'm a little nutty about teddy bears - I don't know why...but there it is.

You have to keep teddy bears!
Lovely story!

Lovely story Maggie. I don't think you're mad for rescuing him at all. I am hopeless at getting rid of sentimental items!

Hi Maggie May....I've popped over to catch up here, and am delighted at this post...I love teddy bears!

Thank you for the interesting background of these three bears. But you know, I like the one in pink and think you are lucky to have him! He looks very happy to be there and I think he's made friends with the others...

I'm with you. I couldn't `bear' to get rid of anything like that.
