Mallard on a Wall

Don't you just love the luminous colour on this mallard's neck? I just happened to have my new camera with me and I tried out the special setting for pets! Quite pleased with this one.

Watery Wednesday is hosted by 2sweetnsaxy. For more lovely pictures look her up!

I LOVE this picture! It is just beautiful. I had pet Mallard ducks when I was growing up. Six of them. They always stayed right in my yard and followed me everywhere. Then my mom got mad and gave them away. The people said the ducks flew away and never went back.

I actually love that blue part that looks purple when the sun hits it. I could stare at a mallard all day :-)

Beautiful indeed. You'd think he'd have been spooked off but I can see that the Mallard lingered on. ;)

Yes I have always been fascinated by that beautiful colour green and also the purple on his wing. I remember liking the colours very much as a child.
Lovely photo. Great to have a new camera. Was it a birthday present?

I really like this shot. I think it's very pretty and the composition is perfect. There's something very nice about the lily pads, shadows and the addition of the flowers in the corner that are the perfect touch.

I think he's thinking: "I should really get in that water and start diving for fish ... but it's sooooo lovely and warm here ... another few minutes won't hurt".

I'm not lucky with my new camera. One week after its purchase, it went "kaput". So I cannot take photos as beautifully justified by your gorgeous colourful Mallard.
