Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining

The storms go on. We've been hit by yet another one (unnamed this time) with sudden gusts blowing things over and making a mess. I don't think I've ever known a February like it.
I was wakened frequently last night by the windows being buffeted and we're double glazed.
When the children were really small and we first moved into this house, the single glazed windows really rattled in windy weather like this and I can remember having to stuff rolled up newspaper between the gaps in the ancient sash windows. Not that it made much difference.

It's a pity that the weather is letting us down, as Bristol has been having lighted window trails round the city, where people have decorated a lit window or two with all sorts of things from beautiful summer scenes to gruesome things and a whole range of things in between. The windows are beautifully lit up at night and its been lovely to walk round and see them...... except for the weather, that is.
It really isn't very inviting outside right now and it's a challenge to go far.
Spring must surely be on it's way. The nights are lighter though..... there's usually a silver lining in the cloud and the lighter nights are certainly that.

I love the way Spring suddenly arrives and my thick tights go away and my canvas shoes come out!

The lighted windows are a beautiful idea. I found a few photos online and the presentations are creative and different. I hope there was a least a good evening or two for viewing.

I'd like to see a lighted windows trail. I admit, I find it impossible not to glance into windows at night as I drive pr walk by.

I like the idea of a lighted windows tour, I'll have to see if I can find any pictures. I'd love our town to do something like that.
Funny that you have had such bad weather in Feb, as we have had really mild weather with hardly any snow, although it was really cold last weekend. The world's weather is changing, very scary.

Love the sound of the lighted window trail.

I am glad it is an actual storm and not, as I feared when I started reading your post, a metaphorical one. Keep warm. Summer will come.

Hoping that when the weather clears, you will be able to visit the lighted window trail. I would love to see photos. It sounds beautiful.
The photo you have on this blog of the brewing storm is a beautiful photo!

LOL I knit window worms in bright colours to keep the cold out.

Yes, I am confident now that spring will return as we've had a few flirty teasers from her.

We're having a fine storm right now. Snow to sleet to rain to snow. YUCK! Hope your weather, at least, is improving.

As I write, it is grey and cold outside. I am so looking forward to spring - it can't come soon enough.

Spring is definitely on the way but it has snowed here all day so it may be delayed slightly. ;)
